Smiles and glee, we see yellow burning for victory!
The Alternative Learning System Gensan Division is a success on its 12th Commencement Exercises on July 28, 2016, at Lagao Gymnasium with the theme “Kabataang Mula K to 12 Tagapagdala ng Kaunlaran sa Bansang Pilipinas”.
Thrilled and excited, the graduates were joined by their parents, stakeholders, and educators as such are guests who extend their gratitude and congratulations.
The event begins at one o’clock in the afternoon with a processional march of the candidates together with their parents, educators, DepEd Officials, stakeholders, LGU of General Santos City and NGO’s then followed by the entrance of colors, piloted by the selected students of Holy Trinity College.
“Dream, Believe and Act”, precise and trenchant, the Education Program Specialist Assistant II Elsa G. Lagura, stresses as she officially welcomes everyone to the event. Education Program Supervisor Gregorio O. Ruales presented the 74 graduates in Elementary Level and 1, 357 graduates in Secondary Level with a total of 1,431 and Schools Division Superintendent Gildo G. Mosqueda, CEO VI accepts and confirms the graduates and spoke on behalf of the OIC-Regional Director of DepEd XII Dr. Arturo B. Bayocot, CESO V.
The said occasion is also joined by City Mayor Hon. Ronnel C. Rivera; and Congressman Hon. Pedro B. Acharon. Alvin J. Serrano, Mobile Teacher of Romana District introduced the events’ guest speaker, Hon. Alberto “Bobby” D. Pacquiao which in during his speech stressed out that he had the same aspiration with the graduates since he was also a product of Alternative Learning System of GSC SY 2014. “Pareho din ako sa inyo, naging mahirap ngunit nangarap at nagpursige para maabot ang mga gusto at pangarap sa buhay”, Hon B. Pacquiao said.
With 7 graduates from Elementary Level and 139 graduates from Secondary Level with one PWD graduate, in the name of Sharmaine F. Quia who wants to be a Pastor, received a distinction award, of being the District Achievers throughout the school year.
“Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality” Grace P. Amorio one of the graduates had said. Testimonies from ALS graduates of Gensan were also given one of whom is Lesita Khan Mama 55 that, in spite her age and have been in the A&E Program for 10 years persevered for her dreams; likewise Jenelyn L. Jimenez ALS Batch 2008, who had made a mark in her words “Doon ko na realize na mas maganda pala sa ALS kaysa sa formal school kasi walang kumpetisyon kung sino ang mas magaling. Andoon lang kami lahat para matuto at dahil sa isang bagay na gusto naming makamit, ang magkaroon ng high school diploma para makahanap ng maayos na trabaho”.
The graduates sang their tribute song “Salamat which in for the graduates, the said song is an expression of gratitude to their educators who had offered their dedication in equipping them with knowledge, skills, and values.
High spirited, the graduates’ work their way and amazed the audience with their dance and singing skills to the song entitled “Go for Gold”. Gregorio O. Ruales, gave his word of thanks and message to the people behind the success and announced implementers who exemplary performed in the line of duty.
